Purpose of job:

Are you an experienced Mental Health Nurse who can lead, inspire and oversee the delivery of the very best care? Nightingale Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a charge nurse who will provide operational management support and clinical leadership to our fantastic Nursing team.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing, effective customer care and efficient use of resources as necessary. Your commercial acumen will enable you to efficiently use staff resources to support service delivery, mindful of budgetary constraints and activity levels.

You will be resilient and professional in the face of conflicting challenges and priorities and above all a calming influence on the rest of your team. Your team will look up to you for support and guidance which you will excel in through your fantastic mentorship skills and desire to develop them.

Who we're looking for?

Purpose of job:

Reporting to the charge nurses, we are looking for healthcare assistants who will liaise at all levels with consultants, nursing services managers and all members of our multi-disciplinary team.

The postholder will be required to support the professional and multi-disciplinary team in the care of patients and the day-to-day management of the nursing department. In addition, they will be required to provide input with the implementation of specific support tasks with patients and their families. Finally, the successful candidate will provide feedback to other members of the treatment team regarding the progress of patients, under the direction of a qualified nurse.

The postholder's main responsibilities include:

  • Assisting members of the multi-disciplinary team in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients.
  • Participating in the review of patients’ care plans as appropriate in ward rounds, meetings and case conferences, in line with policies and procedures.
  • Reporting and recording any changes in a patient's physical or mental condition to the nurse in charge.
  • Liaising with other professionals and agencies as required.
  • Escorting patients both internally and externally to the hospital, as required.
  • Endeavouring to develop sound professional relationships with patients, to promote active listening and communicate the patient's needs to members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ensuring that confidentiality is maintained at all times in accordance with the company policies, the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Health Records Act 1990.

Salary: From £21,000 per annum dependent on experience, plus an additional London Allowance of £4,000 per annum added to all permanent posts (pro-rata for part-time roles)

You will be required to rotate between night and day shifts and complete at least eight weeks of nights per year. Nights shifts are spread across four nights per week working 8.30pm – 8:00am.
