My personal statement:

The key strengths I bring to my work are a full and accurate assessment, formulation and tailor made therapy packages. Listening closely to the patient and understanding how and why the condition has formed is the key to my approach. Following this, a careful formulation is drawn up and discussed with each patient. I tailor make a package of care for each person, drawing on a multi-theoretical approach. My special interests are schema-based psychotherapy, CBT, and REBT. I augment the therapeutic approach by offering training in resilience and positive psychology.

My background is a person-centred, humanistic approach.

Comments in feedback from previous patients have described me as “Warm”, “Engaging,” “Easy to form a rapport with”, “Very good listener,” “Understanding”, “Dedicated to a positive outcome,” “Inspiring”.

Courses of treatment tend to last between 12 – 30 sessions. 98% of my patients report a strong improvement in their condition by the end of treatment.

I have a strong interest in cross-cultural psychology and identity.

Additional information about my research, publications and interests:

My previous areas of research have included Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) , Attachment, Eating disorders and the concept of craving in addictions. I am currently engaged in research involving the efficacy of schema based psychotherapy.
