Professional Statement:

I have been working as a Therapist since 2000 in a wide range of settings and a diverse client group. I initially began as a Bereavement therapist and have gone on to work in Universities as a Student Counsellor offering 1-1 and group therapy, in a Carers’ Centre where I worked with both young and older carers, and currently working for a BAMER Women’s refuge with women fleeing domestic violence.

Presenting issues I have worked with include depression, domestic/sexual violence, Forced Marriage, FGM, cultural/religious issues, relationship and work, self harm, suicidal ideation, abuse, neglect, low self esteem/confidence and bereavement.

I have also developed and facilitate a therapeutic group for Black women living in East London who are/have been victims of abuse.

Personal Statement:

I work from an Integrative perspective based on Person Centred, psychodynamic and CBT approaches. I encourage clients to be active agents in the therapeutic process and to feel empowered in their own recovery/therapeutic process.

I work in a non judgemental way, respecting each individual  to establish their own pace in therapy whilst encouraging and supporting them to face their struggles and concerns, making sense of difficulties in a way that relates to the their individual experience of life.
