Professional experience
Rooted in a deep commitment to mental health advocacy, Mubarak’s journey in psychology was uniquely influenced by his background as a trained performing arts professional. During his studies, he developed a fascination with the psychological dimensions of performance, emotion, and identity, which inspired him to pursue formal studies in psychology beginning in September 2015. While actively working in the media and theatre industries, he transitioned into academia, combining artistic insight with psychological rigour, before fully dedicating himself to the field.
Mubarak holds a PGDip and MSc in Applied Psychology, followed by an MPhil in Clinical Psychology. His strong academic foundation complements his practical expertise and compassionate approach to care.
After relocating to the UK in December 2023, his clinical competence was quickly recognised, resulting in his appointment as Lead Clinical Psychologist at the Lanford Centre, Bramley Health. His excellence in therapeutic leadership continues at the Nightingale Hospital’s Eating Disorder Unit, where he serves as Lead Therapist.
Throughout his career, Mubarak has worked with diverse populations across the lifespan, addressing emotional, behavioural, acute, and complex mental health challenges. His global experience, spanning several continents, enables him to deliver culturally sensitive interventions that resonate across borders.
Personal statement
Mubarak is an integrative and person-centred Clinical Psychologist whose therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, trauma- and neurodiversity-informed practice, cultural sensitivity, and a deep commitment to mental health advocacy. His work spans clinical excellence, creative insight, and community-based impact, offering a unique and holistic perspective.
He tailors his interventions to meet the evolving needs of his clients, underpinned by a core belief that every individual deserves to live a purposeful, empowered, and emotionally fulfilling life. Mubarak works collaboratively, honouring the therapeutic relationship as a powerful force for healing and placing the client’s voice at the centre of treatment.
He is particularly attuned to the multiple identities and cultural contexts that shape human experience, working compassionately and collaboratively to support clients in gaining insight, asserting boundaries, and fostering meaningful relationships. Whether through short-term, focused therapy or long-term, exploratory work, Mubarak creates a safe, non-judgemental space for growth, self-awareness, healing, and empowerment.
