Whether because of jet-lag, insomnia or the arrival of a baby, we all sometimes have to work on little or no sleep. As long as this is not a regular pattern, the occasional night of little slumber is not particularly bad for you. “Humans are well adapted to cope with missing some sleep in the short term,” says Nerina Ramlakhan, a sleep therapist and the author of Tired But Wired.
