I have a breadth of experience working with clients with mental health difficulties across the NHS and private sector. I work across the age range and have previously worked in child and adult services. My clinical training at The Institute of Psychiatry has developed me into a confident and empathetic practitioner, providing time limited, evidence based CBT in line with NICE guidance.
I have experience of working therapeutically with a range of mood and anxiety disorders such as depression, OCD, panic, health anxiety, social phobia, specific phobias, generalised anxiety and PTSD. I typically work on a one to one basis, offering between 10-20 sessions to understand and explore difficulties before learning ways to manage these. Within the Nightingale Hospital I also run CBT and DBT groups for patients.
I enjoy working with patients in a collaborative manner, encouraging active participation both inside and outside of sessions. I believe that the patient is the expert on their difficulties and this insight can be paired with CBT techniques to find a way of overcoming and managing difficulties. At the end of therapy, the individual should feel empowered to act as their own therapist, recognising the link between thoughts, feelings and behaviours and feeling confident in applying techniques to manage these in a healthy way. Feedback from patients is that I am compassionate and supportive practitioner, able to make them feel comfortable in the therapy room whilst providing encouragement for them to continue work outside of sessions.
