Professional experience

Diana Randall is trained in counselling, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy. Her specialist areas include mindfulness, meditation and hypnotherapy. Her approach is integrative and includes psychodynamic and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy).

Diana has worked at Nightingale Hospital for over 20 years running support groups, facilitating CBTinterpersonal therapy groups (IPT), and anger management groups on the general psychiatry, addictions and eating disorders programmes. She now primarily conducts one-to-one sessions with patients and is experienced in working with psychosis.

Previously, Diana worked as a teacher in the Education Services in Manchester and London, as well as the Prison Service in Perth in Australia. She has extensive experience of working with children and adolescents as well as with their families. Diana was also the Lead Learning Mentor in the borough of Wandsworth and worked in the field of business as an outplacement counsellor.

Personal statement

Diana has practised meditation for more than 40 years and taught it for six years in London. Many aspects of that philosophy inform her approach to therapeutic work with an emphasis on compassion and she draws on both Buddhist and Christian teachings and wisdom. Her aim is to facilitate recovery to health, happiness, equanimity, and wellbeing.

Diana hopes to stimulate right-brain activity through her therapy in order to enhance the imagination, empowering patients to get the most from life and to see problems from a different perspective. She also uses cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and related therapy models to give a wide range of cognitive tools for identifying core issues and working towards practical solutions.
