Group Therapy Programmes
Group Therapy is an integral part of treating a wide range of mental health conditions.
Getting support from others in a group therapy setting can be very powerful. Being part of a group allows the rare opportunity to gain insight into how others affect us and how we affect them. For many patients significant progress is made as a result of their group therapy sessions, as it leads them to explore their emotions and feelings with others experiencing similar difficulties. Group therapy provides a unique chance to confront and challenge the way we see ourselves, improve our relationships and learn new ways of being in the world.
Group Therapy at Nightingale Hospital is extremely comprehensive, giving all patients the opportunity to experience interpersonal sessions as well as CBT theory, practice and psycho-education. This enables patients to leave with CBT skills as well as emotional insight and understanding in addition to the tools they need to improve their mental wellbeing in their day-to-day lives.
It may best suit your needs to attend a selection of topic specific groups from our programmes for example anger management, sleep and energy, relaxation therapy or bereavement.
“The groups are a great source of support. They give amazing feedback!”
“Groups have helped me a lot to discover events and triggers that lead or spark my unhealthy attitude to food, and have provided me with mechanisms to deal with it.”
“The interpersonal groups are helping me look at how I interact with people. CBT is helping me consider how I think and feel.”
