My professional qualifications, accreditations and memberships:
Accredited with the British Psychological Society.
My professional experience:
I have worked in the NHS and private sector with older adults, adults and adolescents with eating disorders and general psychological disorders. I facilitate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) groups and work on a one to one basis at Nightingale Hospital London.
My personal statement:
I work with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) as my main theoretical model, and integrate other models such as psychodynamic approaches according to individual need. I specialise in anxiety disorders and depression and have a special interest in mindfulness based approaches. I have completed my doctoral thesis on this subject. I often use mindfulness based approaches in my work, which doesn’t always include formal mindfulness meditations. I am currently in the process of designing a course which would address relapse prevention for depression using mindfulness based techniques.
