Alcohol Addiction

We treat the physical, emotional and psychological problems that surround addiction

Admitting or recognising alcoholism is the largest and hardest step in the recovery process.

It is the first step to stop the dramatic personal cost of alcohol dependency on individuals, their health, and their families.

Alcohol addiction is a progressive disease however people do recover and can dramatically improve the quality of their lives.

Capio Nightingale can help you take that vital step towards recovery and help you regain a life free from addiction.

Help to stop drinking

Our specialist Alcohol Addiction service provides evidence-based treatment for the physical, emotional and psychological problems that result from alcohol use.

All our treatments are provided by a multi-disciplinary team of experts who place a strong focus on addiction education and relapse prevention.

Treatment

A comprehensive treatment programme is available for inpatients, day patients or outpatients.

We offer a safe and comfortable detoxification and provide an intensive and comprehensive assessment of each patient’s physical, psychological and social needs.

The programme is based on a powerful integrative approach incorporating cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), motivational enhancement therapy (MET), and 12 step facilitation (TSF).

All our patients have access to our physical health and wellbeing programme.

Our programmes provide full aftercare and support

At Capio Nightingale, we recognise the need for a practical treatment programme and we provide support for a range of life problems including family problems, employment and financial concerns. We also extend our support and care to partners and families.

Detoxification

Detoxification is the first step in treatment if a patient is physically dependent on alcohol - withdrawal symptoms will occur when drinking stops. This can be provided as an inpatient or outpatient service and is supervised by trained medical specialists.

Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation treatment involves group and individual therapy to help patients understand the psychological and biological aspects behind their drinking and attitudes to alcohol. This treatment encourages self-esteem, relapse prevention, development of support systems and an awareness of problems resulting from alcohol addiction. Relapse prevention helps patients avoid a return to alcohol use. People most commonly relapse when they experience a negative emotion such as frustration, anger, anxiety or depression. We provide patients with the skills and tools to maintain a lifetime recovery.
