18th March 2014 – The Sun – Can eating slower make you thinner?

A study at University of Otago, in New Zealand, found we are more likely to be obese if we eat quickly.

Dr Bijal Chheda–Varma, a Practitioner Psychologist and CBT therapist at Nightingale Hospital London, said, “It takes around 20 minutes for our brains to realise our stomachs are full. Eating more slowly should help your waistline but also wellbeing – and that of your children. Parents who set an example to their kids by eating with them are likely to have children who have better relationship with food.”
