Maree trained as a psychiatric nurse in Victoria, Australia and then did 2 years Child Psychiatry at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne. She undertook group therapy training at Prince Henry's Hospital and completed a 2 year family therapy course. She was Charge Nurse of the Eating Disorder Unit of The Melbourne Clinic and had a supervisory role with the Eating Disorder Association for sufferers and families. Maree has specialised in eating disorder therapy and counselling for Bulimia Nervosa, Anorexia Nervosa and general psychiatry for 20 years both on an individual and group basis.
