Heather is a gestalt psychotherapist and has been working within the area of mental health since 1987. She is trained in both group and individual psychotherapy and has a particular interest in working with trauma. She has a background of working with Rape Crisis and Women's Refuge and at present has a particular interest in working with war veterans.
Heather integrates the techniques of EMDR (eye movement desensation reprogramming) into her work and has been developing a therapy model which demonstrates the effectiveness of EMDR as it is integrated into the phenomenological method of therapy.
Heather is a trained marriage guidance therapist and supervisor and also works as a group supervisor for mental health workers.
