Dr Kamath qualified in India in 1999 and underwent his postgraduate training in the UK. He completed his specialist psychiatric training in Cambridgeshire, obtaining his CCT in General Adult Psychiatry, Substance Misuse Psychiatry and Rehabilitation. He was a NHS Consultant Psychiatrist at St. Mary’s Hospital in Northamptonshire where he held the post of Lead Consultant for the adult inpatient unit and also ran community outpatient clinics.
He is currently a Consultant Psychiatrist for Private Psychiatry which operates consulting rooms not only in London but also across Kent, Essex, Surrey, East Sussex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.
Dr Kamath accepts referrals for all mental health problems in adults including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, rehabilitation psychiatry, alcohol and drug misuse and other addictions, post traumatic and other stress disorders, schizophrenia and psychosis.
He is dedicated to providing his patients with a first class person-centred service. In his current role, he is able to see patients within their communities. This is a service that is highly valued by both the patients and the GPs who refer them.
He has an interest in medico-legal work and has previously worked in HM Prisons.
