After completing his studies in Medicine at King’s College Hospital London, Dr. Cyrus Abbasian went on to complete postgraduate training in Adult with Addiction Psychiatry at The Maudsley Hospital.
He holds a Psychology degree (2:1 Hons) from University College London and a Masters Degree in Addictions (with merit) from the Institute of Psychiatry.
Dr. Abbasian is recognised by the General Medical Council as a dual Specialist in General Adult and Substance Misuse Psychiatry. He is a member of The Royal College of Psychiatrists and the British Medical Association. Currently, Dr. Abbasian holds NHS posts in Adult and Addiction psychiatry at St. George’s Mental Health Trust. He has considerable expertise treating major mental illnesses and addictions; including alcohol, opiates (heroin), cocaine and stimulant dependency. In addition to teaching medical students, junior doctors, GPs and SANE charity volunteers, Dr. Abbasian is an editor of a psychiatry newsletter.
Dr. Abbasian is available for private consultations on weekday evenings and weekends at the Capio Nightingale Hospital. As he is able to communicate fluently in Farsi (Persian), Dr. Abbasian is also well placed to address issues in clients from Iran and the Middle East.
